Abadie followed an academic education in Agronomy (with Agronomist Master at INA-Paris-Grignon in 1991) followed by a PhD in Phytopathology (Université Paris XI, Orssay). She obtained in 2020 the French degree to supervise PhD students (Habilitation à diriger les recherches). She is a plant health researcher working at CIRAD for more than 20 years, at the Plant Health Institute of Montpelier unit. Specialized in plant epidemiology, she is interested in the agroecological management of tropical crop diseases through the study of environmental and agronomic factors (crop practices and the use of resistant varieties) following field experimentation approach and modelling approaches. Her work focuses on (i) understanding the dynamics of inoculum and leaf infection by these inoculum for quantitative epidemiology studies and (ii) identifying scenarios for the use of resistant varieties at different spatial scales (plots to territory) by modeling.
